Moon Water

champagne bottle, leather, marble, vellum

A harness developed as part of a series of ritual objects to get closer to the moon.

On New Years Eve the host selects a champagne. When everyone is present and the moon is out, the host lowers the vessel out of the window, while each guest silently states their intentions for the new year. Shortly before midnight the vessel is brought back inside. At midnight, the champagne is popped and everyone is given a glass. A toast is made to the new year as each person imbibes their intentions along with the othersā€™.
